Job Title: Boarding Kennel Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Boarding Kennel Manager to join our team at Diamond in the Ruff. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our kennel, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our canine guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily operations, including supervising staff and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the kennel.
  • Evaluate daily operations and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling staff and managing resources.
  • Establish or implement policies and procedures for staff, including training and performance management.
  • Plan and control budget and inventory, ensuring the kennel operates within budget and meets financial targets.
  • Manage contracts for advertising or marketing strategies, promoting the kennel and attracting new customers.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care to our canine guests.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns, providing excellent customer service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities, collaborating with other managers to achieve common goals.
  • Supervise staff, including dog trainers and handlers, to ensure they are providing the highest level of care and attention to our canine guests.
  • Perform general farm duties, including cleaning and disinfecting cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including managing records and reports, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Oversee the development of communication strategies, including social media and marketing campaigns, to promote the kennel and attract new customers.
  • Organize day-to-day business operations, ensuring the kennel runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a similar role, preferably in a kennel or animal training environment.
  • College/CEGEP education in a relevant field, such as animal science or business administration.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as you will be required to travel to and from the kennel and other locations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
