Position Overview:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic plays a crucial role in the servicing, repair, and upkeep of the Company’s heavy machinery. This position requires performing inspections, diagnosing worn components, and ensuring the optimal performance of various automotive equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and diagnostic evaluations on vehicles
  • Service, repair, and maintain diverse types of automotive machinery
  • Keep detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment faults and issues
  • Replace or repair defective components
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery
  • Provide guidance on equipment repair and maintenance
  • Support fellow mechanics as needed
  • Fabricate parts and equipment as required

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma is mandatory
  • Diploma in heavy/diesel mechanics is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the repair of trucks or heavy automotive machinery

Knowledge & Skills

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification is preferred
  • Experience in troubleshooting hydraulic and electronic systems
  • Valid Driver's License is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift heavy objects
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Good hand-eye coordination for operating machinery
  • Specific visual abilities are necessary
