As the Manager of Fraud Awareness and Education, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing Scotiabank's ability to communicate and educate about fraud-related matters, both internally and externally. Your responsibilities will encompass the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies, the creation of fraud awareness initiatives, and the promotion of Global Fraud Management as a thought leader within the banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a detailed internal communication and awareness strategy for Global Fraud Management personnel and the wider organization using diverse channels and methods.
  • Establish and drive a cohesive customer fraud awareness strategy to bolster protection against fraudulent activities.
  • Craft and develop content for executive presentations, ensuring essential fraud messages and insights are effectively conveyed to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and enhance internal communication delivery channels to optimize reach and engagement.
  • Design and produce key communication materials that align with both employee and customer communication strategies.
  • Support and facilitate significant internal events (such as town halls, webcasts, and information sessions) that align with the strategic priorities of Global Fraud Management.
  • Create tools to assess, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, continuously improving based on insights gained.
  • Collaborate with communication stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and effectiveness of fraud-related messaging.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to designated business groups, providing strategic communication guidance on fraud awareness and prevention.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in fraud and communication methods, making recommendations for their application to enhance awareness efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in communications, strategic support, or a related field, preferably with exposure to fraud or financial crime topics.
  • A relevant university degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Business.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in communication best practices.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, along with expert skills in MS PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities, with the ability to distill complex information into key messages.
  • Experience in developing communication strategies and organizing events.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond swiftly in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset.
