Maintenance Worker III Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Worker III to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment, as well as complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing electronic components.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on multiple systems found in a healthcare facility, including boilers, HVAC, medical air, and vacuum systems.
  • Coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff to meet operational requirements.
  • Utilize maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building.

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field.
  • 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience in maintenance/repair and construction of building and finishes within the health care environment.
  • Certification in Mold Abatement, Asbestos Abatement.
  • Ability to understand simple schematic drawings, read blueprints, equipment repair manuals, and manufacturer installation instruction and specifications.
