POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Recovery Home Support Worker is integral to an integrated team that collaborates closely in a residential environment. This position focuses on providing crisis intervention, educational support, coping strategies, and connections to community resources for individuals facing challenges related to mental health, addiction, trauma, and crisis situations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Recovery Support Worker (R.S.W.) is dedicated to fostering recovery, stability, and independence among clients by delivering comprehensive support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring client safety and assisting with daily living activities.
  • Encouraging active participation in community activities, including cooking, cleaning, and engaging in group sessions.
  • Maintaining professional conduct and ethical standards while upholding the values of the First Nations Communities.
  • Providing empathetic and compassionate support to clients.
  • Updating client records in the Mustimuhw database regularly.
  • Participating in team meetings and collaborating effectively with colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience requirements include:

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a Social Services Diploma or a relevant Health Care Worker educational program.
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Two years of experience in a psychiatric setting or related field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous clients in crisis situations is an asset.
