About the Opportunity

The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, working collaboratively with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to educate and promote movement, occupation, and function. This position requires the safe and proficient delivery of activities, interventions, and education for patients/clients experiencing limitations in movement and daily function.

The successful applicant will be responsible for checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. They may also be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in rehabilitation and patient care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Graduation from a recognized Community College Rehabilitation Assistant program or a combined Occupational Therapy (OTA) and Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) College program.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training or the ability to complete training within the first three months of employment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience working in inpatient acute care.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and experience working with varied patient populations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members, patients, and their care partners.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are considered an asset.

Hours
  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately a 12-month assignment
  • Shifts include weekdays, scheduled weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Benefits

$22.84 - $25.95 Hourly
