Company Overview: Moving2Canada is a leading organization dedicated to supporting individuals in their journey to relocate and thrive in Canada. We are currently seeking a qualified Environmental Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in overseeing environmental compliance for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Position Summary:

The Environmental Manager will be instrumental in ensuring that all construction activities adhere to environmental regulations and standards. This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing environmental aspects of civil infrastructure projects valued at over $15 million.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and client specifications.
  • Oversee daily environmental operations and monitoring programs associated with the project.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with environmental authorities and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective execution of Environmental Management Plans and Protection Plans.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to project teams regarding environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a robust health and environmental management system in line with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Prepare and manage applications for environmental permits.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services team to address environmental considerations in project design.
  • Coordinate with environmental subcontractors as necessary.
  • Analyze environmental trends to enhance compliance and protection measures.
  • Deliver training and support to project staff on environmental practices.
  • Compile and present quarterly and annual reports on environmental performance and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with client representatives to address environmental issues.
  • Ensure all environmental activities are compliant and risks are managed effectively.
  • Implement an environmental audit program and develop improvement plans based on findings.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in environmental management.
  • Certification as a Qualified Environmental Professional is highly desirable.
