Job Title: Underground Mine Supervisor
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Supervisor to join our team at Canadian Royalties. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage material and human resources at the drilling, blasting, withdrawal, and backfilling level.
- Monitor the quality of work performed in accordance with the company's quality and profitability objectives.
- Manage and mobilize a team of around 20 people; lead complex cases and resolve conflicts in your department.
- Participate in human resources management practices (workforce planning, recruitment, management of disciplinary measures, staff evaluation, etc.).
- Develop and maintain a network with local stakeholders.
- Assist the contractor in their daily needs.
- Meet the company's health and safety requirements and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in mining, or equivalent.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in underground mining, including 5 years as a supervisor.
- Have strong skills in planning, leadership, and personnel management.
- Be able to take a position in more complex cases in conflict management and project management.
- Business acumen and a sense of excellence in customer service.
- Hold the mining modules (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7).
- Hold a valid general explosive permit.
- Bilingualism (French and functional English).
- Hold a valid class 5 driving license.
Nice to Have:
- Accredited training in mine rescue and first aid in the workplace.
- Experience in the mining sector in northern Quebec.
