Job Summary

The Underground Mine Supervisor - Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing material and human resources at the drilling, blasting, withdrawal, and backfilling level. This role will involve monitoring the quality of work performed in accordance with the company's quality and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage material and human resources to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality work performance in accordance with company objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of around 20 people, resolving conflicts and making complex decisions.
  • Participate in human resources management practices, including workforce planning, recruitment, and staff evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and assist the contractor in daily needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety requirements and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in mining or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in underground mining, including 5 years as a supervisor.
  • Strong skills in planning, leadership, and personnel management.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and conflicts.
  • Business acumen and excellent customer service skills.
  • Hold the mining modules (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7) and a valid general explosive permit.
  • Bilingualism (French and functional English) and a valid class 5 driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited training in mine rescue and first aid in the workplace.
  • Experience in the mining sector in northern Quebec.
