Job Summary

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer 4/Maintenance Worker V to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing site Power Plant and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain site Power Plant and related equipment, including boilers, generators, heating, air conditioning, and exhaust systems.
  • Monitor and adjust building systems through the site Building Automation System (BAS) to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable facilities.
  • Perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades, in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Requirements
  • Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Drivers License.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
