About the Role: Gameplay Technical Director

We are seeking an experienced Gameplay Technical Director to lead our talented Gameplay Engineering team at 2K Sports Lab. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical foundation and driving innovation for our next-generation sports franchise.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Gameplay Engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure seamless integration of gameplay mechanics and technical solutions.
  • Define and implement technical architectures for innovative gameplay systems, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in sports gaming.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to enhance our game development pipeline.
Your Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Technical Director or Lead Engineer in the video game industry, with a strong focus on gameplay systems.
  • Deep understanding of game development principles, software engineering practices, and design patterns.
  • Expertise in C++ or a similar programming language, with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • A genuine passion for video games, particularly sports titles, and a desire to contribute to cutting-edge innovation in the industry.
