About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic and leisure interventions that promote the mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support
- Provide individualized support and guidance to residents to enhance their quality of life
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify resident needs and preferences
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance recreation opportunities
As a Recreation Therapist with Northern Health Authority, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including MSP, extended health/dental, and a municipal pension plan. You will also have access to four weeks of vacation, financial support for moving expenses, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
Requirements- Grade 12
- Successful completion of a recognized recreational program and two years of recent, related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Physical ability to carry out duties of position
- Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
