Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Acropolis Manor. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing therapeutic and leisure interventions that promote the mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents.

About the Role

  • Developing and implementing therapeutic and leisure programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to resident care
  • Providing individualized support and guidance to residents to help them achieve their goals and maintain their independence
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify resident needs and develop effective intervention strategies
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of policies and procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 diploma and a recognized recreational program, plus two years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, with the ability to lift, bend, and move with ease
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
