About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Roll & Chicken. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of food quality.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, and provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
