Job Title: Academic Services Coordinator

Join the University of Waterloo as an Academic Services Coordinator and play a vital role in supporting the success of our students. This dynamic role will provide administrative support to the Department of Systems Design Engineering, focusing on student experience, program administration, and academic integrity management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional client service to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices for student-centred services, including academic advising, scheduling, and data management.
  • Act as a liaison between the Department of Systems Design Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and central university services, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of student experience and academic programs.
  • Support the recruitment and admissions process, including event planning and execution, data collection, and management.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Chairs and program directors, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication.
Qualifications:
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated extensive administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Experience in undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as familiarity with engineering discipline and relevant academic policies, is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
