About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at KSS Finishing & Woodworking Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our drywall projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth and even finish.
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster to create a durable and long-lasting surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure a strong bond between the drywall and the surrounding materials.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit and a smooth finish.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings to create a unique and attractive finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong bond.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate measurements and a smooth installation process.
  • Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall finishing or a related field.
  • English language proficiency as the primary language of communication.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
