Job Title: Youth Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Engagement Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Three Rivers. As a key member of our Youth Programs team, you will play a vital role in planning, promoting, leading, and facilitating a variety of programs for youth aged 13-24 years that support their physical, social, and mental well-being, personal development, leadership skills, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the Supervisor of Community Youth Initiatives and youth to develop programming, events, resources, and activities that meet the changing needs of youth in our community.
  • Plan, promote, lead, and facilitate a range of programs, including Youth Leadership Development, Youth Sports, Teen Basketball, Food Sense/Community Meals, Youth Drop In, and other new programs.
  • Support the evaluation, quality assurance, outcomes reporting, and expansion of youth program offerings.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal YMCA partners and external community organizations to support program offerings.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of youth programs, including purchasing program supplies within the allocated budget, creating program plans, completing program statistics tracking, collecting stories, and aiding with grant applications/reporting.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Work, Recreation & Leisure, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with youth between the ages of 13-24 years from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Knowledge of the unique needs of youth and resources available to them within our community.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills needed to build positive relationships.
  • Passion for meaningfully engaging with youth, meeting them where they are at, ensuring they feel heard, welcomed, and supported in YMCA programs.
