About the Role:
The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Youth Programs team, you will be responsible for planning, promoting, leading, and facilitating a variety of programs for youth aged 13-24 years that support their physical, social, and mental well-being, personal development, leadership skills, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Supervisor of Community Youth Initiatives to develop and implement programs that meet the changing needs of youth in our community.
- Plan, promote, lead, and facilitate programs that support youth development, leadership skills, and physical and mental well-being.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal YMCA partners and external community organizations to support program offerings.
- Support the day-to-day operations of youth programs, including program planning, statistics tracking, and policy implementation.
- Ensure that youth programs are a safe, inclusive, and engaging space for all youth.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Work, Recreation & Leisure, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience working with youth aged 13-24 years from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Knowledge of healthy adolescent development and program planning.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with youth and community partners.
- Valid G driver's license and full-time vehicle access (strongly recommended).
- Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
