Job Summary

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Compass Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards across our locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and develop corrective action plans
  • Collaborate with operations teams to implement and maintain a robust health and safety program
  • Deliver training and education to employees on health and safety best practices
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
