About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to join our Buildings Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety orientations, job site inspections, and provide first aid assessment and treatment as needed
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and escalate any issues to resolution
  • Identify and prevent hazardous situations, and take necessary measures to correct them
  • Review subcontractors' pre-construction safety submittals and weekly safety reports
  • Organize and conduct training programs, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and CPR/First Aid
  • Compile and maintain project health and safety statistics
  • Create and maintain a safety-first culture among site staff

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience on institutional, commercial, and civil construction projects
  • Valid OFA L3 certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset
  • Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation is an asset
  • Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program is an asset
  • Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
  • Advanced First Aid is an asset
