About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to our customers and internal teams, leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Support Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support to customers and internal teams through various contact channels, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex issues.
  • Driving initiatives to improve support-related processes and customer experience, including developing tutorials, how-to videos, technical articles, and trainings.
  • Leveraging your customer support experience to provide feedback to internal teams on how to improve our services and working on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple cloud services.
  • Continuously learning and developing new technical skills and professional competencies to stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies.
  • Acting as an interviewer in hiring processes and coaching/mentoring new team members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Knowledge or experience with system administration, troubleshooting operating systems (Linux and/or Windows), and networking (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, CURL or related).
  • Knowledge or experience with Hadoop ecosystems (Apache Spark, Apache Hive).
  • Knowledge or experience in data lake architecture and administration.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience utilizing data analysis techniques such as quantitative or qualitative analysis.
  • Knowledge or experience in various big data or distributed systems (NoSQL, search and streaming).
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and/or experience with any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience scripting or developing in one or more of the following languages: UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java,.NET (C#), JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of security concepts/best practices in securing application architectures from external threats.
