Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare healthy snacks and meals tailored to the dietary needs of children.
  • Manage food procurement while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Canada Food Guide to create meal plans that accommodate health and religious dietary restrictions.
  • Collaborate with the center's leadership and other dietary planners to ensure quality service.
  • Maintain a safe and supervised environment for children at all times.
  • Adhere to provincial regulations and YMCA policies regarding food safety and child care.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Food Handler's Certification recognized by public health.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Minimum age of 18 years to obtain a Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations as required by public health standards.
  • Ability to perform light to medium physical tasks, including lifting.
  • Experience in a fast-paced cooking environment is preferred.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
