Position Overview

The Pharmaceutical Care Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of clients in a retirement residence. This position involves various responsibilities aimed at maintaining the health and safety of residents.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a relevant trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset.
  • Equivalent Experience: Candidates with equivalent experience are also encouraged to apply.
Work Environment

The role is set within a nursing home or similar facility, providing a supportive atmosphere for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Input client data into various databases.
  • Manage and track inventories of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate prescription records.
  • Prepare and dispense medications for clients.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are ready and well-maintained.
  • Monitor and record vital signs of residents.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Administer prescribed medications.
  • Observe and document the therapeutic effects and potential side effects of medications.
Certifications Required
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Current CPR Certification.
