Position Overview:
As the Manager of Indigenous Agreements, Services & Partnerships, you will spearhead initiatives throughout the province, working collaboratively with various teams to enhance CLBC's relationships with First Nations, Metis, Inuit, and other Indigenous service providers. This pivotal role emphasizes service design and engagement with Indigenous partners to promote our mission of delivering services that uphold Cultural Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with First Nations, Metis, and Indigenous organizations, as well as key provincial entities.
- Negotiate a range of agreements on behalf of CLBC, including protocols, funding arrangements, MOUs, and service-related contracts.
- Create and execute strategies to elevate CLBC's visibility among Indigenous partners and service organizations, ensuring a thorough understanding of our service model.
- Oversee the Indigenous Services Canada file, liaising with relevant governmental departments.
- Lead the formulation of frameworks, policies, and processes that facilitate business and partnership development with Indigenous stakeholders.
- Guide and mentor team members, fostering cross-team collaboration and nurturing a positive organizational culture that promotes learning and leadership.
- Provide leadership to a growing team focused on Indigenous services, including responsibilities for recruitment, training, performance management, and addressing staff concerns.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in government systems and engagement with Indigenous communities. A combination of education, experience, and relevant skills will also be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in team leadership, particularly in the Indigenous Services Sector and Community Living Sector.
- A comprehensive understanding of the various jurisdictions affecting Indigenous relations is essential.
Work Environment:
This role offers flexibility, allowing for a hybrid work model that combines on-site office responsibilities with remote work options. Frequent travel to communities within the CLBC catchment area and to the Head Office is required.
