Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Director Indigenous Workforce Experience - Strategic Partnerships to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in promoting and fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for Indigenous staff within VCH.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies, programs, and initiatives to enhance the recruitment, retention, professional development, and overall well-being of Indigenous staff.
- Collaborate with the People Team and Indigenous Health to provide leadership and program development that contributes to building a diverse and culturally enriched workplace.
- Coordinate collaborative working groups to inform human resource program development and implementation, focusing on recruitment, retention, recognition & engagement, and safety & wellness for Indigenous staff.
- Assess and understand the organization's current human resource programs, policies, and practices, and collaborate with partners to achieve system-level transformation and develop comprehensive Indigenous workforce strategies.
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant discipline.
- Five years of recent, related experience in managing strategic and operational change initiatives and facilitating consultation with diverse groups.
- Experience working with or for Indigenous organizations and developing relationships with Indigenous communities.
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and Indigenous cultures within Vancouver Coastal Health's service region.
- Certification or interest in Indigenous Human Resources, such as the Certified Indigenous Human Resources Professional (CIHRP) designation.
- Experience partnering with First Nations organizations and communities, post-secondary academic organizations, and Indigenous career development organizations.
