McCain Foods (Canada) is actively seeking Temporary General Labourers to support our operations in potato storage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.


• Handle materials weighing up to 25 kg.


• Assist in the cleaning and preparation of storage facilities and surrounding areas.


• Support the efficient process of potato storage.


• Sort and organize potatoes effectively.


• Remove any foreign materials from storage.


• Install ventilation culverts in potato storage areas.


• Guide farm trucks during unloading procedures.


• Maintain cleanliness in work areas.


• Assist with light maintenance tasks on equipment and storage facilities.


• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs).


• Follow Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and prioritize safety.


• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting.


• Participate in team meetings as required.


• Duties may also encompass the collection and processing of potato samples and documentation of quality data.


• The work environment will include both indoor and outdoor tasks.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.


• Work hours may fluctuate based on weather conditions, typically ranging from 40 to 60 hours per week, with potential weekend shifts during peak harvest periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent (GED).


• Ability to collaborate effectively with storage supervisors and fellow employees.


• Strong team player with a reliable attendance record.


• Demonstrate proactive involvement and initiative.


• Highly motivated, observant, and possess a positive attitude.


• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changes.


• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Maintain a commendable safety record and consistently prioritize safety.
