About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Humo Restorations Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, utilizing measuring tools and software.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel, to create high-quality structures.
  • Build and install foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls, and roof systems, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other team members, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Estimate costs and materials, making informed decisions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) software and other digital tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in various settings.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling of heavy loads.
  • Combine sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday, with regular breaks to maintain physical well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Reliability, team player, punctuality, and dependability are essential qualities for this role.
Workplace Information
  • On-the-road job with regular travel to various construction sites.
  • Permanent work term with a 40-hour workweek.
  • Work language: English.
