Bridge Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our transportation business line, you will be responsible for delivering a range of projects for both private and public sector clients.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong technical background in bridge design and construction, with a proven track record of delivering projects to clients' satisfaction. You will be responsible for designing steel, concrete, and wood bridges, from functional design to preliminary and detailed design stages. Additionally, you will be involved in proposal preparation, including cost estimates, and will lead design/project teams to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop bridge designs for various types of bridges, including highway and rail bridges
- Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and information for design purposes
- Collaborate with other disciplines, such as geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and environmental, to ensure comprehensive design solutions
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Mentor and train junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in bridge design and construction
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba
- Valid driver's license
- Master's degree or PhD in Structural Engineering
- Experience with bridge condition assessments and load ratings
- Experience with resident engineering and site supervision during construction
- Experience with structural analysis software and modeling, such as SAP and STAAD
- Working knowledge of bridge design codes, including AASHTO LRFD, CHBDC, and AREMA
