About the RoleWe are seeking a driven and proactive Employer Partnerships Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of actively recruiting and engaging employers to participate in our programs, inspiring them to recognize and leverage the unique value that newcomers bring to their organizations.
You will be co-creating a model where employers are eager to work with us to access immigrant talent by developing innovative, outcome-driven employer recruitment strategies and building partnerships.

Key ResponsibilitiesEmployer Recruitment and Engagement- Design and implement recruitment strategies that attract employers eager to engage with immigrant talent.
- Proactively identify and engage employers through various channels, including email, phone calls, and networking events, to participate in our programs.
- Create and maintain an up-to-date employer database to track employer interactions, partnership agreements, and outcomes achieved through our programs.
- Lead efforts to educate employers about the untapped potential of immigrant talent, helping to shift perceptions and foster inclusive hiring practices.
- Cultivate and manage strong, ongoing relationships with employers, business and professional associations, taking a proactive approach to address their feedback and cater to their evolving needs.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and maintain strategic partnerships that enhance recruitment efforts.
- Clearly articulate the value and benefits of participating in our programs and connecting to untapped immigrant talent.
- Ensure continuous engagement with employers, following up to solidify partnerships and encourage collaboration.
- Collaborate with employers to thoroughly understand their business needs, documenting key insights to drive business development initiatives and tailor innovative solutions that meet their workforce demands.
- Collaborate with our learning and development team to support employers to implement immigrant inclusive hiring and training practices.
- Identify and actively participate in in-person and virtual employer-related activities, such as events and employer spotlights, to showcase our programs and facilitate connections.
- Represent our organization at relevant industry events and conferences, to promote IEC-BC's employer engagement programs and initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, labor market dynamics, and emerging job opportunities to inform employer engagement strategies.
- Conduct market research to identify new sectors or industries for potential partnership development.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, business development, or employer relations, preferably within the workforce development or diversity and inclusion field.
- Established local business network.
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in negotiating and managing partnerships and multistakeholder collaborations.
- Strategic thinking and problemsolving abilities.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce) for tracking and managing employer relationships.
- Knowledge of recruitment processes, and diversity and inclusion best practices in an asset.
- Must be available to attend occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events.
