Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our Reactivation Care Centre Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nursing personnel in providing personal care to residents, including hygiene, grooming, and dressing, toileting, and recording nutrition and hydration intake.
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with the Interprofessional Care Plan, under the direction of a Registered Health Care Provider.
  • Support patients' independence, dignity, social, emotional, and cultural well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with elderly patients and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a College of Applied Arts and Technology.
  • 1-2 years of experience in inpatient Geriatric/Rehab or Long-Term Care.
  • Experience working with patients with cognitive impairment/dementia and responsive behaviors is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with team members and function independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and development.
