Position Overview

The Integration & Application Development Manager leverages extensive expertise in technical solutions, application development, and integration tools to fulfill business requirements while enhancing the synergy between business processes and information technology. This role demands a deep understanding of various integration domains across multiple business subprocesses. The incumbent will identify solutions, design integrations, and ensure alignment with business needs and IT architecture standards. Additionally, this position drives process enhancements through collaboration with IT and business partners and serves as the principal technical manager for all related projects and research. In most cases, the incumbent may also take on the role of IT Project Manager, focusing on identifying solutions to meet both current and future business demands while potentially overseeing the work of others. As a subject matter expert, providing technical coaching and fostering peer development is a vital aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and design the solutions architecture for Application Development, Application-to-Application, and Business-to-Business integration, utilizing Enterprise Service Bus, API Management platforms, Data Virtualization technology, and SAP's Business Technology Platform.
  2. Establish and align global application development and integration standards, principles, and best practices to optimize solutions within McCormick.
  3. Act as the functional liaison between Business and Technical teams regarding application development and integrations across various technology projects, defining systems scope and objectives in relation to business needs and project requirements.
  4. Promote continuous improvement by challenging existing solutions to enhance performance, reduce complexity, and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
  5. May lead a team, maintaining oversight of project budgets to ensure compliance with expense and capital allocations, while planning and directing the work of employees and contractors in the development and support of complex systems applications.
  6. Engage with external shared groups to network, benchmark, and gain insights into emerging trends and potential new tools or techniques.
Secondary Responsibilities
  1. Chair the Integration Architecture Governance Board, facilitating the review and approval of architectural change proposals from various teams.
  2. Coordinate with Systems Integration vendor partners for the delivery of application development and integration tasks outlined in deployment scopes.
  3. Participate in the Technical Integration Leadership team to review group priorities and identify necessary actions for each workstream.
  4. Collaborate with the Application Managed Service partner for the transition of Application Development and Integration objects post-Stabilization phase, ensuring a comprehensive knowledge transfer plan is established.
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience (10 years) in a similar role.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in an architecture role across multiple system platforms.
  3. Experience with integration in a complex enterprise-wide SAP S4 ecosystem, including both on-premise and cloud-hosted applications, with knowledge of SAP's Business Technology Platform.
  4. Strong awareness of Enterprise Service Bus, API management platforms, and Data Virtualization technology.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of core business functions and their implications for system integrations and application development.
  6. Proven experience architecting solutions for application development and integrations within an SAP enterprise landscape, including cloud applications.
  7. Effective project management skills throughout the project lifecycle, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  8. In-depth technical and functional knowledge of multiple business areas through project experience.
  9. Ability to manage project budgeting processes, including tracking costs and decisions.
  10. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  11. Proficient in presenting to and interacting with stakeholders at various levels, including senior executives.
  12. Ability to analyze complex problems and provide timely solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  2. TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture framework certification.
  3. SAP certification.
  4. PMP certification.
  5. 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  6. Expertise in Enterprise Service Bus and Data Virtualization, preferably in CPG or FMCG sectors.
  7. Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing performance and maximizing value.
