Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Parks Maintenance III to join our Parks Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and other related parks amenities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of equipment, including chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including groundskeeping, landscaping, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Level III completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in parks operations, municipal parks environments, horticulture, golf course management, or landscaping.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with Q-endorsement.
  • Pesticide Applicator, CSA Playground, Fall Protection, Flag Person, Confined Space, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 2 Certificates.
  • Willingness to obtain Class 3 Driver's License with Q-endorsement.
  • Clean driver's abstract.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package, with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local.
  • The salary range for this position is $30.26 to $33.15 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the possibility of shifts in the evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Additionally, you will receive a free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during your term of employment.
