Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

Elder Tree Montessori is seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our daycare and promoting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our children.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment: Ensure the daycare equipment is in good working condition and maintain a clean and organized environment for the children.
  • Engaging Children in Activities: Engage children in storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to encourage their creativity and imagination.
  • Supporting Early Childhood Educators: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Ordering Supplies and Equipment: Order supplies and equipment as needed to support the daily operations of the daycare.
  • Keeping Records: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records of children's progress and development.
  • Preparing Snacks and Meals: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observing and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaborating with Staff: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and work collaboratively with early childhood educators and supervisors to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
