Elder Tree Montessori is seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our daycare and promoting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including cleaning and organizing the daycare space.
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing engaging activities and programs for children.
  • Support children in developing their creativity through art, music, and dramatic play.
  • Encourage children to express themselves and develop their communication skills.
  • Assist with meal preparation and snack time, ensuring children's dietary needs are met.
  • Observe children's behavior and development, reporting any concerns to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and share ideas for improving our programs.

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.

Work Details:

  • Permanent position.
  • 35 hours per week.
  • English language required.
