About the Role:

SMS Equipment Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Equipment Sales Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing sales of new equipment within the domestic sales function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales of new equipment, including collaborating with the Operations Manager to set quotas and implement sales action plans.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, budgets, and prospect reports.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, including initiating direct sales activities with existing customers and new prospects.
  • Act as a customer representative for SMS Equipment and as a focal point for communication between customer and SMS.
  • Assist customers in implementing equipment changes for improvement and reduced operating costs.
  • Ensure feedback of customer problems to SMS so that solutions to recurrent problems can be developed.
  • Develop regular call schedules and close relationships with customer staff at all levels in their companies.
  • Prepare informative written call reports using CRM.

Requirements:

  • Typical level of education is equivalent to completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong sales/engineering orientation with 5-7 years of experience in the mining/industrial industry.
  • Ambitious and aggressive, with a proactive approach to acquiring cutting-edge technology and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Commitment to safety and making safe choices when completing all tasks.
