Job Overview:
  • During assigned shifts, you will conduct proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service abilities and engage effectively with individuals who may be under stress or in need of medical support.
  • In this position, it is crucial that you maintain physical fitness and are capable of standing and walking for extended durations.
  • Execute a range of preventative and responsive tasks, including but not limited to internal and external patrols within the facility and surrounding areas.
  • Provide Use of Force/Restraint as necessary and directed under applicable regulations.
  • Offer security escort services to staff and visitors upon request.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate logs and documentation of all shift activities and service calls.
  • Accountable for drafting precise reports following investigations or reportable incidents in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and follow up on incidents, write reports, and review CCTV footage as needed.
  • Security Officers shall alert individuals of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or remove violators from the premises, utilizing force when warranted.
Qualifications:

  1. Valid Immunization Record including: MMR, Varicella, & 2 Step TB Skin Tests
  2. First Aid CPR - Level C Certification
  3. COVID Vaccination Status
  4. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  5. Vulnerable Sector Check
  6. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  7. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position.
    • Please note: The UoF/MOAB training is not compensated as it is a prerequisite; however, Paladin will cover all associated training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position.
