Position Overview:
As a Pharmacy Support Technician, your role will involve assisting the pharmacist in managing prescriptions, organizing patient records, and executing technical responsibilities related to the preparation and dispensing of medications. You will also play a key role in managing inventory and performing other assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers, collect necessary information, and create/update patient records
- Input prescriptions and prepare them for dispensing
- Deliver exceptional, empathetic, and professional customer service
- Handle incoming phone inquiries
- Recognize potential non-compliance issues and direct patients to the pharmacist as needed
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory and organize merchandise effectively
- Oversee pharmacy inventory using stock management systems
- Process claims with third-party payers when applicable
- Perform cashier responsibilities as required
- Track medication expiration dates
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong numerical abilities
- Customer service focus
- Excellent communication, listening, and empathy skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently
- Collaborative team player
- Fluency in both French and English
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technical Assistant is advantageous
- Proficient in computer applications: Word, Excel, RxPro
