Civil Structural Engineering Department Manager

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Civil Structural Engineering Department Manager to lead our Civil Engineering team at Equinox Engineering Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and management of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Management: Responsible for the management of the Civil Structural Engineering department, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor engineers and supporting staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Project Management: Estimate engineering hours and manage civil scope for projects, ensuring that civil designs meet the requirements of both the client and Equinox.
  • Design and Delivery: Provide designs on a variety of project sizes ranging from well pads to large plants, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Quality and Accuracy: Ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables, aligning with client expectations.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other disciplines and work closely with international locations such as Houston, Australia, and India.
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to create client-specific technical scope documents, perform technical evaluations, and complete contract documents.
  • Standards and Procedures: Develop civil department standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Communication: Ensure proper distribution of project information to all project team members.
  • Professional Development: Keep abreast with the latest technologies and materials, including commitment to continuous improvement activities.
  • Staff Management: Coordinate staff remuneration, performance reviews, and training.
  • Health and Safety: Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.
  • Business Development: Assist with business development and client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Education: Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Canada, Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with specialization in Structures.
  • Experience: Minimum 20+ years of oil and gas experience, with EPCM background.
  • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and management skills, experience in managing civil engineering teams, including global workshare, proficiency with Structural software RISA 3D, Dyna 6 or equivalent, and solid background in international structural codes and standards.
