Job Title: Director of Culinary Services

Spring Living Retirement Communities is a leading provider of senior living services in Canada, with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents and guests. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Culinary Services to join our team.

Job Overview

The Director of Culinary Services will be responsible for managing all aspects of culinary service within our community, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement seasonal menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents and guests
  • Manage a team of culinary staff, including chefs, cooks, and servers, to ensure seamless delivery of food and beverage services
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and National Director of Culinary Services to develop and implement strategic plans for culinary services
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor expenses, and inventory levels to ensure efficient operations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests, responding to feedback and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role in the food service industry
  • Valid Food Safety/Food Handler's Certification
  • Red Seal designation or equivalent considered an asset
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Knowledge of applicable government regulations and requirements
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing, training, coaching, and evaluating a team
  • Ability to analyze challenging situations and develop effective solutions through interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and decision-making capabilities with minimal supervision
