About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Development Manager to join our team at Pelican Events & Catering. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing promotional materials, managing staff, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Promotional Strategies
    • Design and create engaging promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content.
    • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Manage and Motivate Staff
    • Recruit, train, and direct a team of staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance and achieve goals.
  • Market Business Services
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and partners.
  • Plan and Control Budget and Expenditures
    • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective use of resources.
    • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure they are aligned with business goals.
  • Write and Edit Communications Materials
    • Develop and edit press releases, newsletters, and other communications materials to promote the company and its services.
    • Ensure all communications materials are accurate, engaging, and aligned with the company's brand and messaging.
  • Direct and Evaluate Establishments and Departments
    • Oversee the development and implementation of communication strategies and information programs.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Plan, Direct, and Evaluate Advertising Campaigns
    • Develop and execute advertising campaigns to promote the company's products and services.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of these campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as Spokesperson for the Organization
    • Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
    • Develop and deliver presentations, speeches, and other communications to promote the company and its services.
  • Gather, Research, and Prepare Communications Materials
    • Research and gather information to develop and edit communications materials.
    • Ensure all communications materials are accurate, engaging, and aligned with the company's brand and messaging.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marketing, business, or communications.
    • Experience
      • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, such as marketing, business, or communications.
    • Skills
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Specialization/Experience
      • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
      • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
