Position Overview:
We are in search of a talented and proactive Commissioning Engineering Lead to enhance our team. In this capacity, you will oversee a team of commissioning engineers and technologists, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams within Saltworks and our esteemed clients to ensure successful project execution. Your key responsibilities will encompass the development and management of project commissioning strategies and resources, mentoring commissioning teams, engaging with project stakeholders, and guaranteeing customer satisfaction. This role offers substantial opportunities for career advancement, with support from senior leadership at Saltworks to help you cultivate your leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Spearhead the delivery of innovative clean technology solutions, utilizing your technical acumen and leadership capabilities. This includes:
- Managing the complete commissioning project lifecycle in collaboration with our Project Management Office (PMO) and engineering teams to commission systems/plants at various sites.
- Conducting thorough commissioning planning, which involves budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and the development of procedures/standards for both factory and site commissioning.
- Implementing standardized and efficient commissioning methodologies while enhancing our cutting-edge industrial desalination and resource recovery systems.
- Representing Saltworks at client job sites, working with your team to ensure high-quality system/plant commissioning and a smooth transition to customers (international travel may be necessary).
- Provide design feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation within our engineering teams.
- Develop expertise in your field, allowing you to expand your technical skills while also enhancing your project management and team management capabilities.
- A relevant engineering degree.
- Eligibility to register as a P.Eng. with the appropriate regulatory body.
- 7-15 years of pertinent experience as an engineer in an industrial environment, particularly in commissioning, project delivery, or handover.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required for on-site commissioning support.
- A proven history of delivering high-quality commissioning work in a dynamic industrial setting.
- Proficiency and practical experience in hydrostatic testing, mechanical and electrical commissioning, process control commissioning, and field commissioning.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards for mechanically and electrically energized systems.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Strong critical thinking abilities, adept in risk management, and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Successful managerial experience in developing and leading teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain high-quality work while quickly acquiring new skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a sense of urgency in completing projects on schedule.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment with diverse team members.
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality work while adhering to deadlines.

- Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (beneficial but not essential).
