Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Foreman, the Construction Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting with physical labor tasks throughout all stages of construction and production. This position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including manual labor, material handling, site preparation, and basic machinery operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently clear large rocks and debris from work areas, ensuring safety and accessibility for heavy machinery.
  • Implement traffic management strategies by setting up and removing signage, cones, and barriers, while directing vehicular flow as needed.
  • Communicate with equipment operators to ensure proper alignment and movement of materials on-site.
  • Utilize hand tools such as rakes and shovels to distribute gravel and other materials for foundational support or concrete placement.
  • Excavate test holes by locating markers and safely managing any exposed utilities, marking them clearly for visibility.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from clutter and debris.
  • Carefully expose live utilities without causing damage.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted outdoors, subject to varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs regularly is required.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Operator's License with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Pre-employment fitness assessment is mandatory.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction or related labor roles is advantageous.
