About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Bester Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and quality of our building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to meet project specifications.
  • Structural Assembly: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a sturdy and safe structure.
  • Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the building's exterior and interior.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Environment

As a Framing Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
