Position Overview:

The Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") directly reports to the Board of Directors of ELRL. This role represents the highest level of leadership within the organization. The CEO is instrumental in steering the success of ELRL and its various business units. Responsibilities include establishing operational policies, formulating and overseeing budgets, managing personnel, and nurturing relationships within the local municipal and business sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of all business units, including ELRL, NorDev Group (hotel operations), and Stone Ridge Golf Course.
  • Ensure accountability in service delivery aligned with corporate objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead marketing initiatives and business operations while developing and managing both short-term and long-term operational and capital budgets focused on growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with various groups, organizations, and government agencies to maintain Elliot Lake as an appealing community for residents.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: A diploma or degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, operations, or marketing. An MBA is considered advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, ideally in a similar organization, with a strong background in profit-driven environments.
  • Strategic Thinking: A visionary leader with proven strategic and operational expertise, capable of making informed, decisive decisions.
  • Marketing Acumen: Proficient in business principles and market analysis, with knowledge of the real estate landscape.
  • Operational Management: Experience in strategic planning, business development, and property management.
  • Relationship Building: Strong political awareness and governance skills, able to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership: Exceptional skills in team building, staff engagement, and mentorship.
  • Financial Management: Experience in managing operational and capital budgets in both profit and non-profit settings.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
