About Action Against Hunger Canada

Action Against Hunger Canada is a global humanitarian organization that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. Our mission is to save the lives of severely malnourished children while helping communities become self-sufficient.

We are a leading recipient of funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and advocate for changes to policy and practice in support of better nutrition and increased food security.

Our collaborative programmatic model brings together communities, civil society, government, and the international assistance community to work jointly on fundamental public health issues that contribute to hunger in this world.

About the Global Nutrition Cluster

The Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) is a holistic support platform for global nutrition actors at all levels to meet their needs during humanitarian emergencies.

The purpose of the GNC is to help prevent and treat malnutrition in all its forms through strengthening the technical and coordination capacities of partners and countries, so they are better able to prepare for, respond to, and recover from nutrition emergencies within humanitarian crises.

In addition to offering vital resources such as nutrition standards, guidance, tools, online courses, and webinars, the GNC provides on-demand, in-country and virtual support (when and as requested) in two areas: – 1) coordination and information management, and 2) programme.
