Position Overview
The University of Calgary is seeking applications for a full-time Professor position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a robust research program in Immunoengineering, achieving national and international recognition.
- Secure competitive external funding to support research initiatives and attract high-caliber trainees and staff.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to the candidate's area of expertise, contributing to curriculum development.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university service, promoting an inclusive and equitable academic environment.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in engineering, life sciences, or a related field, with a proven track record of scholarly impact and research productivity. Applicants should demonstrate experience in securing research funding and leading independent research groups. A commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels is essential.
Research Focus
The research agenda should align with the themes of Immunoengineering, potentially encompassing areas such as biomimetic materials, immune-oncology, molecular engineering, and regenerative immunology.
