Position Overview
The University of Calgary is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track role at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will be nominated for a Tier II Canada Research Chair focused on Neuromorphic Technologies.
Key Responsibilities
The selected individual will be expected to:
- Develop a robust research program in neuromorphic technologies, contributing to the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and the computational neuroscience initiative.
- Engage in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including curriculum development.
- Supervise and mentor students and postdoctoral fellows, fostering their academic growth.
- Secure competitive external funding to support research endeavors.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service activities.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a PhD in engineering, life sciences, or a related field. They should demonstrate:
- A record of scholarly impact and research productivity.
- Experience in securing research funding and leading an independent research group.
- Teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
