About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our Residential team at Northern Property REIT. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, providing exceptional customer service to our residents, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to Northview's Health and Safety requirements and protocols.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity and functionality of our properties.
  • Respond to Work Orders: Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
  • Assist with Renovations and Upgrades: Collaborate with our team to plan, execute, and complete renovation projects, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to residents.
  • Maintain Tools and Equipment: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, stored, and accounted for.
  • Work with Vendors and Contractors: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct Building Inspections: Regularly inspect properties to identify potential issues, ensuring proactive maintenance and minimizing the risk of costly repairs.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in residential building maintenance, with a focus on facilities maintenance and repair.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and climb stairs with equipment and supplies.
