About the Role

As a Senior Litigation Counsel at Intact Financial Corporation, you will be at the forefront of our company's mission to help people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle subrogation files of varying complexities from beginning to end, utilizing your expertise in drafting pleadings, conducting discoveries, mediations, and trials/arbitrations.
  • Work with autonomy in your practice, collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge and coach others on best practices.
  • Appear before all levels of court, including attending on motions and at trial, to advocate for our clients' interests.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and resolve complex subrogation claims.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in property, commercial liability, and/or subrogation litigation.
  • A member in good standing with the Law Society Of Ontario.
  • Experience handling subrogated claims is an asset.
  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple case files simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with research, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient and comfortable with digital solutions in the practice of law.
