Scarborough Community Legal Services (SCLS) is a dedicated non-profit legal clinic committed to assisting low-income individuals within a vibrant and diverse community. Our primary focus areas include housing, social assistance, immigration, and employment law.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive legal assistance in employment law and potentially other legal domains as required by the organization.
- Engage in intricate legal proceedings and oversee the work of junior team members.
- Perform thorough legal research and collaborate effectively with fellow legal professionals.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at law reform and community engagement.
- Provide public legal education on pertinent legal issues.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree recognized by the Law Society of Ontario.
- 1 to 7 years of relevant legal practice experience.
- Familiarity with applicable legislation and experience in litigation.
- Strong commitment to social justice and promoting diversity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork.
